Trevor Floreani, P.Ag. Trevor has worked with the provincial government as a Rangeland Agrologist (PAg) with Alberta Forestry & Parks since 2018, based out of Fairview, managing agricultural dispositions on public land, with the focus on grazing in boreal mixedwood and Peace River parkland environments. Prior to this, he spent time as a research technician with the NAIT Centre for Boreal Research stationed in Peace River working in upland forest reclamation, working across northern Alberta. In his spare time, Trevor helps coordinate the annual Alberta May Plant Count with the Alberta Native Plant Council and Nature Alberta, which tracks flowering phenology across the province. Trevor is also serving as the President of the Board for the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society (AWES). Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Trevor quickly returned to the Peace Country upon completing a geography degree from the University of Calgary, and has been fascinated with the native flora of the region ever since. AP Rick Murray is a local Professional Agrologist and Authenticating Wetland Professional with Ducks Unlimited Canada based in Grande Prairie since 2016. Currently, Rick acts as the project manager for the Boreal Wetland Centre located directly south of Grande Prairie and supports other projects such as industry knowledge exchanges/training and technical data collection (wetland assessment, carbon sampling, etc.). Before this, Rick spent 10+ years in the consulting industry focusing on pre-disturbance assessments, construction monitoring, post-disturbance assessments, and permitting focusing on soils, vegetation, and wetlands in the oil & gas, mining, transportation, and aggregate extraction sectors. Alanna Dickson is a soil scientist and professional agrologist with 25 years of experience working in the field of site assessment and remediation. Alanna has a particular interest in soil chemistry in both pristine and contaminated soils and the focus of her work at Montrose Environmental Solutions Canada Inc. is assessment, remediation, risk assessment and risk management of contaminated sites in the upstream oil and gas, midstream, and forest industries. Alanna grew up in Grande Prairie, but has worked on contaminated sites across British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan. Alanna has a bachelor of science in Environmental and Conservation Sciences from the University of Alberta (1999) and a master in Soil Science from the University of Saskatchewan (2008); she is currently enrolled in a master of Chemical Risk Assessment at the University of Saskatchewan (grad. 2026). Previously, he most recently spent time working as an Agricultural Fieldman in municipal government and, before that, in agricultural research at the University of Alberta and in agricultural policy for the province. A shift into range agrology represents a realization of his educational background and a move into a longstanding area of interest. With their background, Kailee has gained valuable experience in the topics of silviculture, soils, hydrology, and environmental contamination, chemistry, and assessments. Kailee was born and raised in Grande Prairie and has a personal connection to the area.
